Solidarity with those who have no freedom

We campaign and raise our voices up to challenge the hostile UK asylum system. Members recently took part in a direct action to show solidarity with those who have their voices taken away. Mariam Yusef from our network said:

Groups, organisations, refugees and people seeking asylum activists came together on Saturday 18 November at Derwentside immigration detention center in solidarity to support women locked inside.

WAST women gave speeches sharing the traumatic experiences that they have had from being detained and the damage it does to women.

We left with invisible scares that may never heal.

But we also celebrated the victory of the Supreme Court ruling on the Rwanda scheme. We chanted “No Deportation, No Rwanda!”

This week the government’s renewed Rwanda plan goes back to Parliament. Now more than ever we need to show solidarity.

If you can make a donation so we can keep on raising voices up, please support our work.
